On Tuesday 13th October 2020 our CEO Donna Stolzenberg been invited to be a keynote speaker at the National Symposium on Homelessness and Mental Health. This Symposium aims to discuss the issues surrounding homelessness with the sector, particularly in relation to mental health. It will explore the supports and services available to those who are homeless and require assistance, as well as what can be done to improve these services in the hope of minimising the issue into the future. The Symposium will be a strength-based, safe and meaningful opportunity for not only leading professionals to come together and share information in […]

The pandemic has hit hard in so many ways and we haven’t been immune from its wrath. We ran out of almost everything for our Period Packs just as the need for donations was increasing. We reached out to the incredible people at Johnson & Johnson who own Carefree and Stayfree pads and tampons and they were only too happy to help! This wonderful company donated over 10,000 products to help get us though tough times here in Melboune to make sure everyone’s support has access to menstrual hygiene items during lockdown. Thanks J&J. We’re so grateful for your support.

Sometimes a small thing can make a huge difference to someone in need, especially when no one else is around to help. 🍔🍟🥤 Instant food wins are very popular for people sleeping rough, as they can redeem them when the food vans are gone and the street feeds are closed. If you happen to collect instant food and drink wins and you’re not using them, we’d love to have them to pass on to people sleeping rough in Melbourne. We’ll be passing these on to Deb and the awesome team at From Us 2 You to help get them out […]

We are so excited to be able to once again supply the wonderful people at drummond street services with 40 play bags containing over 240 play items. Plus 1450 sanitary pads and 432 nappies to assist clients still in lockdown. Our awesome volunteer Super Simon was on hand yet again to load up his trusty wagon and get these items over to Imran, Basant and Ron from Drummond Street Services. Simon was telling us that some of these children haven’t been able to play outside since stage 4 lockdown due to playground being closed, and living in towers means no […]

Jenga, Snakes & Ladders, Sudoku, Crosswords, Lego, word finder, sketch books, colouring in, Jigsaws, teddies and so much more! Today our super volunteers made dozens and dozens of play bags for kids, teens and adults. These bags will be going to tower residence who have a family member with Covid and who can’t get outside to play and exercise. Three play and activity bags are essential in keeping kids occupied and keeping parents inspired and busy while they’re locked inside. We have family jigsaw puzzles, kids puzzles, kids toys and games, coloring books, books and games for teens and heaps […]

We are so incredibly proud to lend our support to Aboriginal women and children in the Northern Territory. As a First Nations woman myself it is an honour to acknowledge our elders and those who come before us who continue teaching our ways and traditions. We have supported a Women and children’s refuge in the NT for a number of years now and this space is cared for by many Larrakia women. Each year the women come together to celebrate and we are honoured to provide these gifts for their annual get together. Sadly due to covid I won’t be […]

As Covid continues to keep us in lockdown, so many organisations still need our help and support. Today we got the old gang together and made up 30 play bags for kids living in towers who are prevented from playing outside due to covid. Each bag has some crayons, a colouring book, a toy, a new book, some stickers and some Play Doh. Kids living in towers have to be isolated because of Covid but they don’t have backyards to play in, and with playgrounds being closed it has made it extra hard for parents and care givers to keep […]

Many of our incredible supporters have been following along as we help individual women escape and recover from domestic violence. One of those women is Lauren. The support we have received to help Lauren has been phenomenal and we wanted to give you an update. I keep in touch with Lauren and we speak regularly. She is an incredible strong woman who has rebuilt her life from the most extreme and relentless domestic violence that lasted many years. Lauren is now paying it forward and helping other victims of DV. She is amazing. This was part of our conversation today. […]

We might be close to being out of lockdown but we’re not there yet and people still need our support. Yesterday we sent 946 Nappies plus dozens of toothbrushes, toothpastes deodorants and tins did formula for families doing really tough during covid. We’re so pleased to be able to support wonderful organisations like Stevenson House. Thanks so much to Catrice and colleagues for looking after everyone during this lockdown.

Our beautiful followers, we have a very special and heartbroken little boy who needs our help. On August 1st Khaleed had to say goodby to his most beloved superhero, his little brother Jahleel. Jahleel was born with a rare brain disease called Aromatic 1 amino acid decarboxylase deficiency (AADC) and just a few days after his 4th birthday he passed away. Khaleed has lost his best friend and only sibling. He was inseparable from his little brother and put his heart and soul into helping his mum Bec care for Jahleel, and being the best big brother any little super […]

Oh wow what a week! After an unexpected extended stay in hospital we still managed to get another 60 families sorted for period packs, toiletries and Fathers Day gifts for this week! These items are all going out through Melton, Caroline Springs and Taylor’s lakes and add to the many different organisations and groups we have been assisting since the Covid Crisis right across Victoria. Huge apologies to those of you still waiting for emails and messages to be answered. We’ll get to those as soon as we can. It’s all good in the period project hood, just a small […]

Thanks to your incredibly generous donations we were able to support the Yuendumu school in the Northern Territory with dozens of items for their Senior School Fellas program. This program teaches health and hygiene essentials to the fellas and is an important part of the school program. Being so far away, the Yuendumu school wasn’t previously able to access the items they needed to successfully run the program and it was at risk of being cancelled. However, thanks to your support we were able to help the school out with more than enough items to set them up and the […]
