412kg, 2 cubic metres of flood relief items going to flood affected areas in NSW and QLD. People have lost everything. They’re sleeping on bare floors and waterlogged cars. Among the items we have here are 40 new sleeping bags. It’s not much but it’s a start. We need more. This week alone we sent out 40 sleeping bags to help young people experiencing homelessness, 30 more sleeping bags to children sleeping in cars, 24 sleeping bags to assist children to go to school camp, 35 sleeping bags to people sleeping rough, and 70 sleeping bags to our partner organisations to reach even more people who call the streets home. As the cold weather begins to nip, today we loaded up the Mitsubishi and delivered 15 sleeping bags to drummond street services. Each week DSS gets our stock exactly where it needs to go- this time to teenagers and young adults. We are so grateful to everyone who supports us and our work, as it allows us to support the community directly through the hard work of the wonderful people at Drummond Street Services.
