We managed to do quite a bit during our 2018 drive at Sleeping Bags For Homelessness. Over 2100 life saving sleeping bags delivered across the country. A huge thank you to everyone who helped us out. We’ll be collecting again in April 2019!
Christmas is a time of giving, and we’re absolutely delighted to be able to give these gifts to children experiencing homelessness this Christmas. Our very organised supervisor, Santa Simon and his team of lovely elves wrapped all 89 of these gifts yesterday and they’ll be delivered soon to make sure they arrive in time for Christmas Day. A huge thank you to Good360 Australia and to LEGO for donating us all of these beautiful gifts. There are going to be some very happy and excited kids this Christmas who otherwise would have been left without anything to open Christmas morning. Merry Christmas everyone. Thank you […]
What an absolutely incredible start to our renovation rescue day! Just as we opened the doors these two beautiful people, Angie and Geoff, came in with (what they said was) a ‘little’ surprise for us. Turns out that little surprise was a cheque for $2500 to get our renovations up and running! Wow!! Every year Angie and Geoff hold a card making and raffle day to raise money for a chosen charity. This year they raised over $5000 and split it between two charities. We were one of the the very lucky recipients! We were just overjoyed with their generosity […]
A HUGE thank you and so much love to Lauren and the team at Bunnings Port Melbourne and to Tessa Jane and the team at Bunnings Brunswick for our brand new BBQ and gas bottle! We plan on having many community BBQ’s in our gorgeous new courtyard to help reconnect people experiencing homelessness, and we cannot wait for you all to join us! First BBQ is tomorrow for our reno planning day! 2pm, 50 Lygon Street Brunswick East!
It was so exciting to announce that we’ll be opening an Op Shop/ Community Connection space and Meditation Den in Brunswick East! But now we need your help to make it all happen! We’ll be having the initial meeting and plan making session at the new space where we’ll take you on a tour of this gorgeous place and together work out what needs to be done! We’ll have a BBQ running to keep you all fed then we’ll head to a local venue for a brew or two, to make a solid reno plan! We need tradies of all […]
How do you feed 600 hungry partygoers in an Amphitheater, making sure no one slips on a death onion? You call us! We were thrilled to be the charity partners for the Vollyspot Max Graef event yesterday, keeping hundreds of folk fed and safe from onion slippage as they partied the day away. We went through hundreds of delicious vege burgers and countless onion safe sausages. These gigs attract the best crowds. Super friendly and just all round good people. Thanks for having us along again, Vollyspot! What a great team we make! A massive thank you to all of our volunteers […]
OK people! We can FINALLY announce our exciting news! We’re expanding into Brunswick East and we just couldn’t be happier! We’re opening a combined Op Shop, meditation den, community space with life connection workshop programs that will benefit everyone in the community but most of all our most vulnerable. But we need YOU to help us get her ready for our grand opening in Summer! We desperately need tradies and tools. The space is gorgeous but she needs a bit of a facelift and it’ll take all manner of trades folk to help us get her ready for her grand […]

Ridiculously amazing generosity shown by Metcash!!!! They donated about $2500 worth of product to our donation drive – 100’s of shampoos, conditioners, sanitary items, deodorants and lots of other stuff ?? They then asked some of their valued suppliers to contribute and Johnson & Johnson, Colgate Australia and Unilever all chipped in with hundreds more product donations!!!… See More — feeling energized with Amy Rust at Metcash Kidman Park.
Looks so much like Melbourne, doesn’t it? People sleeping on the streets with nowhere to call home. This is New York City on the corner of 34th street and 5th Avenue. This is real and it’s happening everywhere. This is someone’s ‘home’. We want to lead by example and eradicate this ridiculously ‘acceptable’ human situation. People should not live like this but they do. We’ve seen with our own eyes, they do. Please, now is the time to knock on the doors of your elected members of parliament. Ask them what they’re doing about homelessness. Don’t ask what they’re going […]
It was an absolute pleasure to work alongside our Sanitary Sisters from the USA last night and joint in on one of their incredible Period Parties. What a group! ‘The Homeless Period Project is an incredible movement sweeping right across the United States, helping people experiencing Period Poverty everywhere. Together we made almost 900 Period Packs in just two hours, which were shipped out to schools and shelters immediately. We met Sharron, the founder who’s heart is as big as her country and we’re so fortunate to spend some time together learning from each other and sharing our […]
