NHC Play Bag Drive

We have recently had many organisations asking if we can provide toys or craft equipment for young children isolating in their homes during Covid.

Not everyone has a backyard, schools and playgrounds are closed, and children who cannot go outside are sadly feeling the effects of lockdown. We have seen a huge rise in children needing emergency accommodation due to domestic violence and abuse.

We create these play bags so the kids have something new to do and something to keep them occupied while they wait out the days inside.

We include LEGO, books, stickers, play doh, colouring in pencils and crayons plus scrap books and a cuddly teddy. The bags are a huge hit among the organisations and families we support.

Sadly we can’t take donations of products so we’re asking for financial donations to make the bags. Ideally we’d like to make 50 bags initially but we need many more.

Yesterday we received an incredible donation from a young boy named Jack who just didn’t want to see any kids sad and asked for money for his birthday instead of gifts. Jack raised and donated $255 for us and so we’ve put his donation toward our first 20 play bags.

If you can donate anything at all we would greatly appreciate it. All donations over $2 are tax deductible. Thank you all so much for your support once again.

Kids in towers who are isolating because they or a family member has covid often get bored and really need […]
