The Kala Space is the latest initiative from The National Homeless Collective.

In our Op Shop we employ women who are:
1. Escaping Domestic Abuse
2. Recently escaped Homelessness
3. Experiencing Homelessness
4. At risk of Homelessness.

The money from sales is used to pay these women’s wages, an important step towards independence.

The Kala Space sells great quality clothing for all genders and ages, accessories, shoes, bags and hats and aims to connect people through mind, body and spirit.

We’re an op shop, community courtyard and meditation space all in one.

Come in for a chat and see what we can do for you or how you can help us help even more people.

We’re thrilled to be able to help them out and bring some Christmas joy for them this year. We were able to fill the Christmas wish list for

Thank you to every single one of you who has donated a gift or donated financially. We had the privilege of meeting some of our gift giving angels at The Kala

#makespaceintheworkplace

Yesterday I met with the Australian National Skills Commission with the goal of initiating changes in the employment landscape that will see more jobs available for people with housing insecurity and those experiencing homelessness. More needs to be done to address the individual employment needs of those who need extra supports put in place, who want to and are ready to work. We must have these conversations now so we will see a future where being unhoused is not a barrier to finding accessible, purposeful and enjoyable employment. This is just the beginning but we are starting to get a
